CACM - Arizona - Registration is OPENYou may register right now for the Compellingly Attractive Chapter Meetings seminar to be held in Mesa, AZ, on September 18. Just click on CACM Registration where you can register online, or print out the paper version. Everyone in your chapter is welcome to attend, but Chorus Directors and chapter music teams are the primary audience. What you learn at the CACM seminar will help you better meet your current chapter goals. The seminar is compellingly attractive itself. You'll have fun and be amazed at some things such as you being (mostly) off the paper on a brand new song in just 45 minutes? Participants of previous CACM seminars here in the FWD have said: Like a breath of fresh air - re-invigorated me to improve myself & the chorus experience. The price is right at $55 each. It includes all class materials and lunch too. We'll be looking for a nearby restaurant where those that want dinner before heading home can congregate for some more singing and discussion.
This event is not limited to Arizona residents. We'll likely have students from
other districts too. This is a Y'all Come seminar. Please join us.
Fall District Convention - Registration is OPENWe're just a month away from the Early Bird deadline, so now's the time to get registered. Just visit the Fall Convention website to get all the info. Be sure to check out the Contest Flow for a great lineup of quartets and choruses that you really don't want to miss. A great lineup of classes will be announced in the next eNews for Friday afternoon, so plan on being there by 1pm at the HQ hotel. In fact, plan on being there by 11am for the Harmony For Lunch Bunch at Pizzaville. It's just of Hiway 99 and California at 700 Oak St.
Hotel registrations are all done online this year and the link to claim your rooms
is on the website too.
Fall District Webcast - Registration is OPEN

you can watch the contests from your home computer this year.

and sign up.
Novice Quartet BrigadeThis is a new program we are starting in the Far Western District that will be held as part of each Leadership Academy in November. Each participant will be expected to know the words and notes to the twelve Barberpole Cat songs, plus Irish Blessing. This is a full day program that will rotate the participants though many different quartet makeups and will include some quartet related craft instruction, coaching, and a quartet contest for those that want to participate. We especially want our newer members to give quartetting a try this way, but all district members are welcome to participate. The Novice Quartet Brigade will be one of the many classes offered this year on the Leadership Academy website which will open around September 1. What you need to memorize in order to participate:
This will be a fun day of singing and learning how to be a good quartet singer. We'll have some top quartet singers there to coach you and sing with you. You might even find the parts you need to put a quartet together. If you are not a Tenor, bring one with you. :-) p.s. If you have attended an eXtreme Harmony Quartet Brigade, please email me at the address below. |
